No, it can’t. The existence of a supreme being simply is not a scientific question. A supreme being stands outside of nature. Science is a naturalistic process and can only answer questions about what is inside nature. Beyond that it’s a matter of personal belief.

Is there any possibility within the limits of science as we know it, that this earth is between 6000 and 10000 years old? The answer is no, not unless somebody has fooled with the laws of chemistry and physics. ... To accept that the geological evidence could tell us that the earth is as old as it is and yet that the Earth was actually created 6000 years ago requires that [the] creator [is] a charlatan, and I don't reject that on scientific grounds, I reject that on theological grounds.

The [Tiktaalik] is one of the most vivid transitional fossils ever discovered. It had well preserved scales on its back and web fins just like a fish. It has a flat head with eyes on top which is an early amphibian characteristic and it had actual limbs to support the body. You couldn't get a better intermediate if you tried. ... The more fossils we dig up, the better the evidence we have for this evolutionary transition.

The [Dover Area School Trial] demolished any contention that this thing called Intelligent Design is a legitimate scientific theory. ... it showed how thoroughly we could show that Intelligent Design is a religious doctrine masquerading as science.
