Should Australia apologize to the Australian Aborigines for the stolen generations?

The stolen generations are Australian Aboriginal children who were removed from their aboriginal communities by the Australian government from 1869-1969. In 2008, Kevin Rudd, the Prime Minister of Australia, formally apologized to the Aboriginal people.

I do not believe as a matter of principle that one generation can accept responsibility for the acts of earlier generation... In some cases, children were wrongly removed, in other cases they were removed for good reason, in other cases they were given up and in other cases, the judgement on the removal is obscure or difficult to make.
