Should abortion be legal?
Disagree
Sid, This is not a stupid issue, it's a real/ serious issue. Sure the mother had a choice on what to do with her body but the baby doesn't have a choice. I know that the 'mass of cells' can't feel the ability to feel, think and hurt like a fully developed human being but it is still a living thing. Obesity, world hunger and bullying is not on my mind right now, those are bad things but abortion is wrong, it's murder. You can't tell anyone to grow a damn brain, what's wrong with you? I'm sure no one ever told you to grow a damn brain. If you think that abortion should be legalised, then that's wrong too, do you think it will make things better? no it won't. It'll just allow more people to have sex out of marriage and more babies would be aborted. Why? they can easily abort the baby in the clinic/ hospital and some of the majority of people are not wise and have sex out of marriage, so i'm thinking why even have sex when you don't want a baby?
Views on rape, i can't say anything on this because i'm not sure what to say about this. This is my opinion, you don't have to agree with me but nothing will change my mind. |

Should abortion be legal?
Mostly Agree
I'm a nurse and having seen persons come into the emergency department that have been raped by strangers, friends and even their own husbands (yes, this does happen, and just because you are married does not mean you have to have sex, it's still your own body), I understand why people choose to have an abortion. I have seen pregnant 11 year olds, do you think they should carry a child? It's going to ruin their life and their body. For those that say,
sorry, you either support it or you don't. There is no walking the line. For those that say a bundle of cells is life, I agree with you, however that can be applied to many things. Frankly, I don't agree with you that is constitutes a person. What you are talking about is potential to be a human. Can those same bundle of cells live without their host? No. So saying that a beating heart means that is it a person, which occurs roughly around 7 weeks, is nonsense. That fetus cannot survive on it's own without a host. The age of viability, roughly around 25 weeks, is when a fetus can survive, WITH major medical intervention. Even then, to ensure survival, you have to make sure that the fetus being born has enough surfactant so that it can breath outside of it's host, otherwise it will not survive. Also, why bring a life into this world that is clearly unwanted? I understand some say that there are plenty of couple out there that want to adopt. Have you looked into the state of foster homes and the sheer number of children in them. I used to work in that field. If a child isn't adopted by the time they are 1 maybe 2 years old, their chances of ever being adopted decrease significantly. There are too many children already out there looking for permanent homes, why bring another child into this world that may be neglected because it wasn't wanted in the first place. To those that say the fetus can feel pain. Again, you are misguided, please do your research. If there are no pain receptors and no development of a fetal brain, the fetus cannot feel pain. So at 7 weeks when the heart starts to beat, no, the fetus does not feel pain. Somewhere between the 20th and 25th week the fetal brain has developed and even then, the fetus is unlikely to feel pain prior to 28 weeks. I also find it rather comical when, particularly the republican party, they say that their party platform is pro-life and wants to decrease government support of planned parenthood, and other government agencies that would help these girls and women. What do you tell a 15 year old that got pregnant because of rape, cannot work because she it too young, and because of the republican party has no access to prenatal care and well baby care. How do they afford it? They can't. To say they have to keep the baby, but we will not support you in anyway is a cruel punishment. For those that say their parents can help them, I don't think you understand that there have been many children that have been disowned or kicked out of their homes because they have become pregnant and thus, homeless. For those religious persons out there, I'm sorry, but imposing your religious beliefs on others not of the same faith is wrong. To say that this nation is founded as a christian nation, I whole heartedly disagree with you. Read your constitution, declaration of independence, but more importantly read Article 11 of the Treaty of Tripoli. Yes, this nation was founded by persons of christian background but they did not intend to impose their religion on others, that's why they came to America, because England did not allow for other religions. People have different beliefs than you do, and for you to argue that it is wrong because of the christian faith and bible and whatnot, you are committing an offense and suppressing the rights of others by imposing yours on them. Do research before you speak! Wait, you probably won't because then you'll find science proving you wrong. |

You're wrong for a lot of reasons. First, you assume human life is inherently good, which its not. Humans are inherently neutral and do quite a bit of bad shit. You think humans are good simply because you're a human. If you were a cow in a CAFO you would probably think very differently of humans. I'd like to ask where you think rights come from and while your doing it id like you to remember that a) God is fake but even if he exists b) governments are representativess of he people and must be value neutral, especially one that is NOT A CHRISTIAN STATE and is supposed to SEPARATE CHURCH AND STATE and c)youd be forcing a law on ppl based in belief not fact. So where do rights come from? well its called a contract. we agree to follow contracts since they are in our mutual self-interest. i.e. we have a contract to not kill each other since neither of us wants to be killed and it helps us if the other person isnt trying to kill us. Also, if you violate the contract then it becomes null i.e. if you try to kill me im gonna try to kill you right back. The cool thing about contracts is they can only exist when we have something called moral agency, AKA the ability to enter into and obey a contract. This is why the cow in the CAFO doesnt have rights, they cannot form contracts. Neither can a fetus as they DONT HAVE MENTAL CAPACITY means they cant enter contracts means no rights. Sure they have a beating heart, but just cause your heart beats doesnt mean your human, you also need to do things like react, think, and decide. The potential argument is dumb. they also have the potential to grow up and be a serial killer, or a child molester, or a rapist, or the sun could go supernova and abort them on the spot or more likely they have the potential to be an unwanted child of an unstable home growing up in massive amounts of suffering. Instead, abortion is a PAINLESS (they cant feel pain even if the procedure would cause pain (which it doesnt)) way to avoid all that suffering. I'm only sixteen yet I understand where rights come from, mostly cause im not fucking retarded

I'm pretty sure the
were slave owners back in the day too. Science has proven were in fact Aliens from other planets. All religions depict stories of Alien wars and spaceships. Close your bible (which has been said to be uncorrect due to the MANY translations of languages where truths can be twisted) and watch some Ancient Aliens. lol.

I find it ironic that Christians oppose abortion when God commanded the Israelis to rip open the stomachs of pregnant women when they were pillaging and destroying cities (Hosea 13:16; 2 Kings 15:16; 1 Samuel 15:3 ). The Bible also says that God favors the man who dashes babies against the rocks, thus inhumanely killing them (Psalms 137:8-9). The term
is a substantially erroneous misnomer for a Christian to bolster when God is evidently pro-murder. If God was truly pro life, why does he naturally terminate the fetus during a miscarriage? Abortion should be legal because it's a civil rights issue, not a religious issue. Stop enforcing your vacuous religious beliefs to effectively modify politics the way you deem fit. |

What really irks me is that Christians believe in that stupid shit called religion, there is no evidence whatsoever of a great flood, garden of eden, or Adam or Eve, just stupid books written by a guy who just wanted to fool everyone. You say you love people, but a baby is just a parasite if its the product of rape, a shitty, crappy, stupid CRAP pack of cells that is not even needed in this world, and news flash people, we have a surplus of humans, we have a surplus of a surplus of a surplus of humans, all a species needs to survive is atmost 100 million, we have 70 times that. Soon the government will have to make a choice between rights and saving the planet, and plus a stupid parasite has no right to live if its the product of rape, just another human we don't even need, honestly, what will the world look like in a few hundred years, eh? It will be a toxic wasteland that everyone needs gas masks to survive, and don't say that won't happen, it will if this goes on! So FUCK all the stupid christians who think they have more rights to a woman's body then a woman's, FUCK YOU CHRISTIANITY AND CATHOLICISM!

Abortion is not a solution to early pragnancy, there are many options to deal with an unwated pregnanacy or early pregnancy.Abortion is qual as murder, because you are killing an innocent baby, which u think is not precoius to you.but in the first place if you never wanted to get pregnant why you have sex? A baby is a God given pursue happiness and you have to accept it as one.

Aborting babies whose parents are intellectually primitive incorrigibles will obviously reduce crime. I'm sorry if I should offend people, but statistics agree.

Abortion should be legalized. I believe the woman has every right to terminate the fetus if she feels like the child or the mother's health is at risk or if she can't financially support the caring of the child.
